All That Buried Sarcasm

“Kids are so innocently naïve, they don’t know anything”
Maybe that’s why we never fought as kids, never used harsh words or broke hearts.
As children we loved unconditionally, accepted without judgment, forgave without thought
Now that I am becoming wise I am learning what an idiot I was
Of course you can’t love unconditionally, why- the whole concept of love is based on conditions.
“I will love you as long as you love me”
And accepting people without judgment- that’s the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
I mean can you imagine befriending an embarrassing person; you’d never want to be spotted in public with them.
How in the world can one make a friend without weighing every aspect of his personality, every characteristic of that person?
Forgiving without thought is out of the question, after all we are mere mortals, how can we ever expect to be so great?
“she lied to me, how could she” (hey, I’ve never lied in my life you know)
We have elevated from fighting over pencils, to fighting over imagined pencils-issues and problems that simply don’t exist, after all our active adult imagination is very important
We can’t cry, because that is so cowardly, the right thing to do is bury our heads in the sand like ignorant ostriches
And dialogue is a thing of the past; the new trend is to “ignore” every significant bit of discussion
Oh and I must not forget individuality- how can we make our stand, on our own beliefs, without bias, why- the correct approach is herd mentality
Have I missed out anything of significance- of course not- morality, after all has no significance in the world
How can we tell our friends what they are doing is wrong? Are we really thick headed enough to jeopardize our friendship over mere matters of conscience and perception
I am glad I grew up!
